CSK to unveil Sanju Samson as Date Revealed for Mega Event; KKR, SRH coaches set to Attend

By MyKhel Staff

Chennai Super Kings are preparing for a grand pre-IPL reunion event in Chennai on March 22 ahead of the IPL 2026 season.

Around 19-20 former players, mainly Indians from CSK's 16 seasons, will attend alongside the current team and staff at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

CSK to unveil Sanju Samson as Date Revealed for Mega Event KKR SRH coaches set to Attend

"It is just a pre-launch for the season and an exercise in fan engagement. There is nothing more to read into it," CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said to Cricbuzz.

IPL Coaches of other Teams to attend CSK Event

Muttiah Muralitharan (Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling coach), Matthew Hayden (Gujarat Titans batting coach), and Dwayne Bravo (Kolkata Knight Riders mentor) have confirmed or are expected to participate. CSK proactively sought permissions from SRH, GT, and KKR to release these coaches for the day, underscoring the event's prestige and the franchises' cooperative spirit ahead of IPL 2026.

As per the report from Cricbuzz, Muralitharan is set to attend the event on his way back to India to join SRH.

"He will be travelling to Sri Lanka tomorrow and may attend on his return," the report quoted from a Muralitharan source.

Although Suresh Raina is expected to be present, Ravichandran Ashwin won't attend the event as he is not in Chennai.

These coaches share storied histories with CSK, fostering unbreakable loyalty despite current affiliations. Muralitharan, who played for CSK from 2008-2010, has often praised the franchise's player care, making his return a natural fit even amid his brief Sri Lanka trip. Hayden and Bravo, iconic CSK performers, have been part of their glory years.

CSK to introduce Sanju Samson

CSK will also unveil Sanju Samson to the Chepauk crowd on the day. The star India player joined CSK from the Rajasthan Royals in a trade deal, which saw Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja going the other way. CSK will begin their IPL 2026 campaign on March 30 against RR in Guwahati.
