Delhi Capitals have continued their winning run in the IPL 2025 as they beat Chennai Super Kings without much trouble on Saturday (April 5) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The Capitals won the match by 25 runs, thus ending their 15-year wait for a victory at the Tamil Nadu capital.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, DC posted a total of 183 for 6 in their 20 overs. KL Rahul anchored the innings with a stellar 77 off 51 balls, including six fours and three sixes. Abishek Porel contributed a brisk 33 off 20 balls, providing momentum in the early overs. Tristan Stubbs added an unbeaten 24 off 12 balls in the final overs. CSK's bowling attack saw Khaleel Ahmed taking 2 wickets for 25 runs.
In response, CSK's chase was thwarted by disciplined bowling from DC. Ruturaj Gaikwad (5), Rachin Ravindra (3) and Devon Conway (13) departed without contributing much to the total. Vijay Shankar was the lone warrior for them with a half-century but never looked like threatening the Delhi total. MS Dhoni came into bat and scored in his characteristic manner as the Super Kings fell significantly short of their target. Leg-spinner Vipraj Nigam picked up two wickets and bowled beautifully, while the pacers also contributed for Capitals as they won the match comfortably.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK Captain): Not today, since the last three games, it's not really going our way. We're trying our level best in all three departments. I think powerplay is definitely a concern for us - in batting and bowling department. We've spotted that since the second game. We're trying but it's just not happening. I just think that we are over concerned or tentative about who's coming on to bowl in the powerplay... we're losing a wicket in the first or second over. We're just over concerned about things in the powerplay. Everyone needs to come together. We need to make those things happen. Since the powerplay, we were always playing a catch-up game. We had Ash at No. 8, and we didn't have Overton. The plan was to take it as deep as possible. DC bowled really well. Even when Shivam was batting, we were looking for momentum but we just couldn't get it."
Axar Patel (DC Captain): I didn't think captaincy would be this easy. Everyone is performing and three wins out of three is excellent. We talk in the team meeting about the impacts of the match, which is very important. In the last three matches, everyone has chipped in and that has been the planning. I was trying to save my bowling as my fingers have broken, that's why I was stopping myself. We have to be more focused so we don't get carried away. As a captain, I want us not to drop any catches. We don't want to be satisfied. We have started well but IPL is a huge tournament, the momentum can shift anytime.
