CSK vs DC Playing 11: Chennai Super Kings are up against Delhi Capitals in Match 17 of the IPL 2025 today (April 5) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
CSK have won only one of their first three matches and will be desperate to win this encounter. The Capitals are currently flying with two victories in the first two and will be aiming to continue their merry run in the tournament.

Date: Saturday, April 5
Time: 3:30 pm
Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
Captains: MS Dhoni/Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK), Axar Patel (DC)
Historically, CSK have had the upper hand in this rivalry. Out of 30 matches between the two sides, CSK have come out on top 19 times. At Chepauk, their dominance is even more pronounced, having won 7 of the 9 encounters there.
However, recent seasons have seen DC put up a better fight, and with a younger, more athletic squad this year, they'll believe they can upset the hosts on their own turf.
Chennai Super Kings may be captained by MS Dhoni if Ruturaj Gaikwad misses out today. The CSK captain is carrying an injury and may have to sit out today. CSK are feeling early heat in the tournament and will have to bounce back in front of their home supporters. As they look to field a strong unit, Deepak Hooda's place is under considerable doubt after repeated underwhelming outings. CSK may also introduce Devon Conway in the side for this clash.
The DC outfit has no such injury issues and will be looking to showcase their might against a team they have historically struggled. T Natarajan is nearing fitness but will not be available for the CSK clash. As per the Capitals, they may come into the match with an unchanged team. But given the conditions in Chennai, they may consider introducing an extra spinner with Ajay Mandal in the fray.
