Ahmedabad, May 29: Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has heaped praise on Gujarat Titans in-form opener Shubman Gill for his ability to play to the situation of the game ahead of the IPL 2023 Final.
GT were supposed to face Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (May 28), but persistent rains and wet conditions forced the match to be postponed to the reserve day on Monday (May 29).

The high stakes contest between two strong and deserving teams in TATA IPL 2023 is expected to live up to the billings and fans are hoping the sky will be clear in the evening.
Attention will once again be on proficient GT opening batter Gill, who is the Orange Cap holder of the season. The opener has been in the form of his life from the start of this year.
The young India batter, who has slammed three centuries in the last four innings, will be aiming to become the second batter after Virat Kohli to score 900-plus runs in a single season.
The way he paces his innings even in the shortest format of the game has earned a lot of praise. Former India cricketer Kaif lauded Gill for his ability to mould himself according to the situation of the game and that makes him such an exciting batter.
"Shubman Gill has this unique ability to adapt to the demand of the situation. He can play explosive shots at the start of the innings and even in the middle overs, he is capable of hitting those big shots," Kaif said on Star Sports Cricket Live.
"He generally looks to set his eyes first and then go ballistic in the middle overs which is a great sign for any big batter. He knows how to convert the starts into big knocks consistently."
The opener will hope to make it three hundreds in a row if there is a chance of game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where there is perdiction of rain in the night.
