IPL 2023: Selling MS Dhoni was a career highlight, says auctioneer ahead of Final between CSK and GT

Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans are set to battle in the championship clash of IPL 2023 on Sunday (May 28) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The four-time IPL champions CSK will be hoping to topple the defending champions GT in their own backyard to secure their 5th title in the tournament and go level with Mumbai Indians as the most successful franchise in IPL.

CSK captain MS Dhoni will be leading his troops as the Narendra Modi Stadium awaits the gigantic clash against Hardik Pandya's Gujarat Titans.

Dhoni, who has been with CSK since the inception of IPL in 2008, has been nothing but a stalwart for them. He was sold to CSK in the very first auction and IPL auctioneer Richard Madley says it was a 'career highlight' for him to sell Dhoni.

The auctioneer took Twitter and posted a picture of Dhoni's autograph for his soon, and then wished the 41-year-old al the luck before the crucial final.

"Selling #Dhoni in the first #IPL auction was a career highlight & meeting him was very special. He signed this for my son @harrymadley6. Good luck today," Madley tweeted along with a picture of Dhoni's autographs for his son.
