CSK vs GT IPL 2026 Matches Rescheduled: Reason Revealed; Check New Dates, Timing and Venue
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced key changes to the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 schedule, affecting the high-stakes matchup between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
As the season continues, the BCCI announced the schedule in two segments for the assembly elections across a few states. But amid this, the two matches of CSK and GT have now been rescheduled and swapped.

CSK vs GT Rescheduled Dates, Venue, Timing
The original afternoon game, set for April 26 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, shifts to MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai. The revised fixture kicks off at 3:30 PM IST, allowing CSK fans a thrilling home advantage under the iconic Chepauk lights-or rather, afternoon sun.
In a corresponding swap, the reverse leg-originally an evening clash on May 21 at Chepauk-moves to Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. This blockbuster will now ignite at 7:30 PM IST, promising GT supporters a pulsating night of T20 action amid the massive stadium's electric atmosphere.
The reshuffle stems from unavoidable logistical challenges due to municipal corporation elections across Ahmedabad and other Gujarat regions on April 26. With polling stations bustling and security heightened, hosting a major IPL match would strain local resources and disrupt voter access. BCCI prioritized civic duties, ensuring seamless fan experience elsewhere.
