Five-time winners Chennai Super Kings will be desperate to stop the slide and get back to winning ways when they host defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in match 25 of IPL 2025 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday (April 11).
Mahendra Singh Dhoni takes charge of a CSK side that head into the match on the back of four successive defeats – two at home and two away - with the latest result being an 18-run loss away from home against the Punjab Kings.

Chasing 220 at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur, Ruturaj Gaikwad's CSK managed to get to 201 in their response, losing their fourth straight match in which they failed to chase down 180 plus targets.
KKR, on the other hand, lost their third game of the season, going down by 4 runs against Lucknow Super Giants at the Eden Gardens as the home side failed to chase down 239. This was KKR’s second home loss in three outings.
Now KKR will look to get back among the win column against one of their nemesis and at a venue, where they won the title last season. CSK, meanwhile will take confidence from their dominant record versus Kolkata Knight Riders. Here is a look at the CSK vs KKR records:

Apart from the clashes against each other, both CSK and KKR have played other opponents at the Chennai venue. CSK as the home side hold a brilliant record at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, but have lost twice in three matches already this season.
KKR, on the other hand, don't possess a great record at the venue, but will take happy memories from under a year ago when they went on to lift the title at the Chepauk by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final. Here is a look at both teams' stats:
