Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will look to get back to winning ways on their return to home when they host Kolkata Knight Riders in match 22 of IPL 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday (April 8).
Ruturaj Gaikwad’s CSK head into the match on the back of two successive losses away from home, while Shreyas Iyer-led KKR will look to maintain their perfect record, having sealed one win at home and two wins on the road.

In their most recent outing, CSK failed to get big runs on the board in Hyderabad, where they posted a target of 165 which was chased down by Sunrisers Hyderabad with 6 wickets and 10 balls to spare at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
KKR, on the other hand, posted the second highest total in IPL history not far away in Visakhapatnam, where they set a daunting target of 273 and then bowled out Delhi Capitals for 166 to seal a massive 106-run win at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium.
Now the action shifts to the Den, where CSK has won two in two this season, but will be wary of their recent meeting at home against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai.
CSK will be a confident side thanks to their overall dominant record against Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR also has a poor record on their visits to the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
In the 28 KKR vs CSK head to head meetings in IPL since 2008, CSK has a clear advantage having won 18 times against KKR, who have won 9 times against the Chennai-based franchise, while 1 match has ended in No Result. In the last 6 meetings, it’s 4-2 in favour of CSK.
