CSK vs KKR: Kolkata Knight Riders cruised to a dominant 8-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings in Match 25 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Friday.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, KKR's bowlers justified their skipper's call with a clinical performance that dismantled CSK for a paltry 103/9 in 20 overs.

The spin trio of Sunil Narine (3/13), Varun Chakaravarthy (2/22), and Moeen Ali (1/20) exploited the slow, gripping surface to perfection, while pacers Harshit Rana (2/16) and Vaibhav Arora (1/31) chipped in with timely breakthroughs.
CSK's innings never found momentum. After losing both openers - Rachin Ravindra (4) and Devon Conway (12) - within the powerplay, the home side slumped further despite Vijay Shankar's brisk 29 off 21 balls and Shivam Dube's unbeaten 31. The middle and lower order collapsed like a pack of cards, with only three batters reaching double digits.
Chasing 104, KKR made a mockery of the target, getting over the line in just 10.1 overs. Sunil Narine turned the clock back with a blistering 44 off 18 deliveries, smashing 5 sixes and 2 fours. He was well-supported by Quinton de Kock (23 off 16), who gave the visitors a flying start. Ajinkya Rahane (20*) and Rinku Singh (15*) applied the finishing touches with minimal fuss.
The loss exposed CSK's frailties with the bat and continued their underwhelming run this season, while KKR's all-round performance further cemented their place among the top contenders.
The Chepauk faithful were left disappointed as their team was outclassed in every department. KKR, on the other hand, will leave Chennai with a big win, two points, and a massive boost in net run rate.
KKR will next play PBKS on Tuesday, 15th April, which will be on the day of Bengali New Year.
