Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns against each other in a crucial IPL 2023 match on Sunday (May 14).
CSK are on course towards the IPL playoffs and a win will only strengthen their grip on that. KKR are mathematically still in the hunt, but a defeat in Chennai will officially curtail their campaign. CSK registered a thumping win at Eden Gardens when these two teams met earlier this season.

Chennai Super Kings: MS Dhoni (C), Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Subhranshu Senapati, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Dwaine Pretorius, Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja, Tushar Deshpande, Mukesh Chowdhary, Matheesha Pathirana, Simarjeet Singh, Deepak Chahar, Prashant Solanki, Maheesh Theekshana, Ajinkya Rahane, Ben Stokes, Shaik Rasheed, Nishant Sidhu, Kyle Jamieson (injured, replaced by Sisanda Magala), Ajay Mandal, Bhagath Verma
Kolkata Knight Riders: Nitish Rana (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shardul Thakur, Lockie Ferguson, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, Anukul Roy, Rinku Singh, N Jagadeesan, Vaibhav Arora, Suyash Sharma, David Wiese, Kulwant Khejroliya, Mandeep Singh, Jason Roy (replacement for Shakib Al Hasan), Aarya Desai, Johnson Charles (replacement for Litton Das)
Chennai Super Kings are head and shoulders above the Knight Riders this season. MS Dhoni has marshalled his troops in emphatic fashion and they are aiming the top two spots this year. KKR have been inconsistent and their star performers have failed to create an impact, which sees them struggling at 7th in the table.
And on Sunday, CSK do have enough artillery to rally over the Knight Riders and our prediction favours the game heavily on the home side.
The two familiar foes have met 28 times in the IPL, with CSK winning 18 matches compared to KKR's 9. These two teams have also locked horns in two IPL finals, and both have won 1 each in the championship encounters (KKR in 2012, CSK in 2021).
