Chennai Super Kings are taking on Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023 match on Monday (April 3) at the MA Chidambaram stadium. But the match started with a 5-minute delay due to an unusual reason.
The match was supposed to start at 7.30 pm IST on Monday. LSG skipper KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bowl first. Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad came out to bat for CSK while the LSG fielders were at the field as well. But the match didn't start at the usual time.

The fans in Chennai waited 1427 days to watch their favourite team play at their home ground. But they were made to wait some extra time, but was thoroughly entertained by an unexpected source.
As the match was just supposed to start, a dog entered the field and started to roam around on the ground. The unexpected guest caused a delay in the start and ground staff rallied in to get it out of the ground.
But the dog kept on bamboozling the support staff and evaded their grasp, running around the side of the field on its own will. The spectators enjoyed the scene and the jam-packed Chidambaram crowd cheered with their voices out for the dog. The innocent but naughty animal stole the show and was the most popular dog in the world for some moments.
Commentators also saw the funny side of it and asked what punishment can be given to the dog for its mischievous behaviour. Finally, the ground staff managed to get the animal out of the ground and the match started at 7.35 pm IST, five minutes later.
But former Indian player and commentator Sunil Gavaskar was left bemused by the incident and bashed the ground staff on air.
"This is unacceptable, whoever is in charge must be held responsible for the unnecessary delay," he said.
CSK captain MS Dhoni was also enticed by the mischievous creature and had a peek from the dressing room to watch the hilarious show. The captain cool will be hoping for a better outcome against LSG after their loss against Gujarat Titans in the last match.
