Former India cricketer Mohammed Kaif has said the IPL 2023 match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday (May 6) will be a battle of quality batters and bowlers.
CSK and MI clash for the second time this season. In the reverse fixture, CSK handed MI their second defeat of the season by chasing down 158 with 7 wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

However, the conditions will be different at the Chepauk, where MI have a great record and are also a much improved side compared to the last time they faced CSK.
Mumbai's batting has become stronger with everyone stepping up, but it will be a challenge for the likes of Tim David and Cameron Green when they go up against CSK spinners Ravindra Jadeja, Maheesh Theekshana and Moeen Ali.
Kaif too feels the same as he reckons the CSK vs MI clash is going to be an exciting one as it is going to be a match between quality batters and bowlers.
"One has better batsmen and the other team has better spinners. It will be very difficult for MI to beat CSK on the day. CSK's spin trio is very strong and in such a situation, Rohit's team will have to make a new strategy to defeat CSK," Kaif said Star Sports' Cricket Live.
Former India cricketer S Badrinath, however, pointed out CSK's struggles against MI at home and their inexperienced pace bowling attack. The former CSK cricketer highlighted Chennai's inexperienced pace bowling attack.
"CSK fast bowling attack looks pretty inexperienced and that is a concern. Their bowlers will have to rise up. MS Dhoni has managed well with the resources he has but the firepower of MI will certainly make MSD vary of the visitors," Badrinath said.
"Also, CSK doesn't fire against MI at home. The last time they won against Mumbai at home was way back in 2010 when I was playing with them," Badrinath added on CSK's home record vs MI.
