IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma registered his sixteenth IPL duck - the most in the history of the tournament - after falling in the trap of mastermind MS Dhoni. In match number 49 of the IPL 2022, Rohit was dismissed for a 3-ball duck for the second consecutive time.
The wicketkeeper laid out the perfect plan for his Mumbai counterpart by coming up the stumps against the pacers. The same tempted Rohit to play the lap shot on the fifth delivery of the third over. The Deepak Chahar delivery took the top edge of his bat and skied up towards gully.
Ravindra Jadeja came in from backward points and completed a simple catch to make Dhoni's plan a foolproof one. Rohit had walked in at number three in the match as Cameron Green came to open with Ishan Kishan at the Chepauk. However, Dhoni outfoxed him and he failed to open his account once again.
