CSK vs MI: In the third match of IPL 2025, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram in Chennai in Indian Premier League's 'El Clasico' fixture.
Putting to bat first, Mumbai managed to put up a modest total of 155/9 in their 20 overs. The innings was anchored by stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav, who made his presence felt with a decent 29. Tilak Varma did most of the work for scoring a 31 off 25 balls setting the foundation for MI.

The 5-time Champions with the help of Naman Dhir and a late surge from Deepak Chahar (28 off 15) helped MI to go past 150.
While chasing the target, Rachin Ravindra (65-not-out) was the man, who stayed till the end and was ably supported by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (53).
None of the batters apart from the above mentioned names provided the support, except Ravindra Jadeja, who scored a brisk 17, which helped CSK chase the target.
There weren't many turning points of the match, but there was one particular moment, that actually helped Chennai Super Kings to restrict Mumbai in the 150s. All the credit goes to Afghanistan star, Noor Ahmad, who won the MOTM award. The spinner finished with impressive spell of 4-18-4, getting the important wickets of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. Had it been not for these wickets, Mumbai could've got themselves a challenging total on the board.
He also got the wickets of Robin Minz and Naman Dhir towards the end of the innings to pick up his 4-fer. This also happens to be his best-ever bowling figures in the cash-rich league and as the tournament progresses, he would get more involved with the action and will definitely try to pull off match-winning performances like he did tonight at the Chepauk.
