CSK vs RCB: Chennai Supporters can't believe lack of Fight in Southern Derby, Blast Deepak Hooda and Question MS Dhoni

Chennai Super Kings' crushing 50-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chepauk was not just another bad day at the office - it was a self-inflicted implosion rooted in poor tactical decisions and questionable priorities.

The spinners were ineffective, the pitch read was poor, and their overall game plan looked flat. The absence of dew caught them off guard, yet again, revealing a lack of adaptability. At this stage in the tournament, such miscalculations are unacceptable.

CSK vs RCB Chennai Supporters can t believe lack of Fight in Southern Derby

The misinterpretation was one thing, but then not even attempting to counter the adverse situation is a different thing altogether.

First, let's address the elephant in the room: the batting order. Watching MS Dhoni walk in at No. 9, with the match already out of reach, was nothing short of baffling. He's clearly striking the ball well, still capable of finding boundaries under pressure, yet CSK keep saving him for the end as if it's 2011 and he's the finisher-in-chief. This overprotective approach undermines the team's chances. Why bench your most composed and experienced batter until it's too late?

Then there's the bigger issue - CSK continue to misread home conditions. They've built a reputation of dominating at Chepauk, but that aura looked bleak against RCB. The fight was non-existent, the CSK batters went into a cocoon and never looked eager to break it. The required run rate kept growing and there was just sheer lack of intent and execution.

And the fans are not stoked with the ploy CSK took in the RCB encounter. Although they believe MS Dhoni may have lost his legs, batting so down the order is not just acceptable.

"I think he's[MS Dhoni] not as confident as he once was. He's not the spontaneous hitter he used to be, so he probably feels that if Dube, Jadeja, or Ashwin can play a better knock. Especially with his knee issues, it's tough for him. But I'll never support Dhoni batting so low in the order. We, as fans, still believe he can pull off miracles at the last moment, but it's time to accept that he's not the same player he once was," a depleted CSK fan named Jeemut Jana said to MyKhel. Jeemut's double whammy is that he also lives in Bengaluru, which probably made things tougher for him.

"We should drop Rahul Tripathi. Why is Ruturaj Gaikwad not opening the innings? We lost the match there only. Tripathi is just not good enough, he never was..." another angry CSK fan named Suryasikha Ghosh said, who decided to skip a family gathering just to watch the CSK vs RCB match.

MyKhel also talked with a few CSK supporters from Tamil Nadu, but they were mostly content with Dhoni's performance, but lamented other players, especially Deepak Hooda, who dropped Ruturaj Gaikwad's easy catch which turned the match completely.

"Deepak Hooda is absolute garbage, man! He cost us the game with the drop catch. And believe me, even my 80-year-old grandma would have caught that. We showed no fight in a derby. I can't believe this, " a fan who lives in Cuddalore district said to us in condition of anonymity.

The Super Kings will have a swift chance to turn things around as they face Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on Sunday (March 30).
