A rampant Royal Challengers Bengaluru side registered a terrific victory against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday (March 28).
RCB secured their second victory of the season, the second one away from home as they crippled CSK and won the match by 50 runs at enemy territory.

It was a fantastic all-round display from RCB who outplayed Chennai across all departments. Phil Salt gave them a superb start and scored 32 runs off 16 balls. Virat Kohli had more of a reserved knock as the RCB stalwart scored 31 runs in 30 deliveries, but it was RCB captain Rajat Patidar who stole the show. Patidar amassed 51 runs in just 31 balls to propel them towards a total near 200. Tim David ended up with a blitzkrieg (22 off 8) as the visitors finished at 196 for 7 in their full quota of overs.
It was an amazing start with the ball from RCB, who took early wickets to cripple CSK in the chase. Rahul Tripathi (5) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (0) departed early and RCB were on top at the powerplay. Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal were on top, who gave nothing away to the Chennai players and kept on taking wickets in regular intervals. Rachin Ravindra (41 off 31) and Shivam Dube (19 off 15) were the only two players in the top six to manage double-digit scores. Ravindra Jadeja hit some lusty blows and then MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 30 runs in 16 balls, but CSK could only manage 146 for 8 at the end of their full quota of overs.
It was a magnificent display from RCB at enemy territory, who broke a long winless streak to finally put the smiles back on the faces of their supporters.
RCB did everything right, especially after losing the toss. But the moment when the match changed will be the bowling display from RCB in the powerplay, and more importantly, a batting collapse of CSK top order. The Chennai Super Kings batters' poor shot selection and inability to break the shackles crippled their chances and gave RCB the upper hand early on in the second innings.
The fearsome CSK batting lineup was struggling as they were 30 for 3 at the end of six overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi - all fell to some accurate bowling, and the credit must be given to RCB bowlers for that.
None of the CSK top-order players could get things going for them, and a scoring rate of just 5 along with those three wickets caused a huge dent for the five-time IPL champions.
Josh Hazlewood: 2-0-6-2
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 3-0-20-1
Yash Dayal: 1-0-4-0
