Senior India and Rajasthan Royals spinner Ravichandran Ashwin left stunned by the demand for the CSK vs RCB tickets ahead of IPL 2024 opener as the tickets went on sale on Monday (March 18) through online partners PAYTM and www.insider.in.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni's defending champions Chennai Super Kings will open their title defence at home - MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai against Southern rivavls Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday (March 22).

The game it self is of big magnitude, but there is also going to be an opening ceremony, which will see some performances adding more star attraction, which brings in even more demand for the tickets.
The franchise had announced on Saturday (March 16) that the tickets for their opener will go on sale from 9:30 AM IST on Monday (March 18) with fans signing up on their website getting an early access. And as expected, the online tickets for the CSK vs RCB game were sold out soon.
While many fans have missed out on buying the tickets, which was limited to two for each user, even former CSK star spinner R Ashwin was unable to get tickets for the game. Ashwin took to social media to ask his former employers for help in getting tickets for his kids, who want to see the opening ceremony and the game.
"Unreal ticket demand for the #CSKvRCB #IPL2024 opener at Chepauk. My kids want to the see opening ceremony and the game. @ChennaiIPL pls help🥳" Ashwin posted on X.
The offline tickets, which had created a lot of controversy last year, is likely to go on sale in the next few days and it is expected to see even more chaos as fans and black ticket agents are expected to flock the venue.
Ashwin, meanwhile, will be in action for Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming IPL season. The inaugural champions will open their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday (March 24).
