CSK vs RR: Fans claimed that Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) was fixed after Sanju Samson's men played 45 dot balls and scored 141/5 in 20 overs. Five-time champions CSK need to win this game to stay in the IPL 2024 playoffs race.
Rajasthan Royals batters struggled after their captain Sanju Samson opted to bat first at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium (Chepauk) on Sunday, May 12. While Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 24 off 21, his opening partner Jos Buttler scored 21 runs off 25 balls at a strike rate of 84.

CSK despite their depleted bowling unit, kept in-form Rajasthan Royals batters in check throughout the 20 overs. Even Samson could manage only 15 runs off 19 balls. It was the 40-run partnership off 29 balls between Riyan Parag (47*) and Dhruv Jurel 28) which took RR close to 150.
All five CSK bowlers used in the match bowled with an economy rate under 8. Only seven fours, and six sixes were hit by Rajasthan Royals through the course of their innings. Samson alone smashed eight fours and six sixes in his last outing against Delhi.
Considering that CSK are in desperate need of a win to stay in the playoffs race, fans on social media alleged that the match was 'fixed and scripted'. Notably, if CSK fail to qualify for the playoffs, the ongoing match could be team's former captain MS Dhoni's last match at the iconic venue - also the home of the defending champions. Here's how fans reacted to the Rajasthan Royals innings.
