CSK vs SRH: MS Dhoni will be in focus as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match number 18 of the IPL 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday, April 5.
The 42-year-old turned back the clock in his side's last match against Delhi Capitals (DC), scoring 37 unbeaten runs off just 16 balls. The whirlwind innings consisted of four boundaries and three sixes.

It was the first instance of MS Dhoni batting in the IPL 2024. He did not get to bat in CSK's first two matches. The five-time champions defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by six wickets, and then thrashed Gujarat Titans (GT) by 63 runs.
The long wait was worth it as Dhoni unleashed himself against the Anrich Nortje. Even though CSK lost the match, the faces of their fans were lit. The defeat did not matter to them.
Similar expectation would be there when the former India and CSK captain takes field against SRH on Friday. Dhoni has enjoyed played against the 2016 champions and the stats speak for themselves.

It's quite evident that Dhoni has done exceptionally well against SRH, but his numbers at the Rajiv Gandhi Internatinal Stadium in Hyderabad are just decent. It's very unlikely that Dhoni would be promoted to bat up in the order, but he would look to come out all guns blazing once again in case he gets an opportunity.
