Dale Steyn has sought a break from his IPL duties this year and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have already initiated their search for a new bowling coach ahead of the 2024 season which starts from March 22 in Chennai.
As per Cricbuzz, the South Africa great, who played 93 Tests, 125 ODIs and 47 T20Is, is expected to return next season, pending all necessary arrangements and requirements.

Steyn was appointed the SRH bowling coach ahead of the IPL 2022 season. He has been credited for nurturing India pace sensation Umran Malik, and transforming him into an international cricketer. The youngster recently earned a BCCI contract.
The onus of searching for the new bowling coach will be on Daniel Vettori, the head coach of the 2016 champions. An announcement is anticipated soon from the Hyderabad-based franchise.
Further, Pat Cummins is likely to be named as the new Sunrisers Hyderabad captain ahead of the IPL 2024 season. Cummins' solid record as Australia captain, and his association with Vettori, who is also part of the Australian coaching setup, further enhanced his chances.
The 2023 World Cup-winning Australian captain was bought for a whopping amount of Rs 20.50 crore in the auction. South Africa's Aiden Markram led SRH in the last two seasons, but without any major success.
Even though Markram led SunRisers Eastern Cape, a subsidiary of the franchise, to title triumph in recently-concluded SA20 2024, Cummins is expected to pip him due to his enhanced reputation by leading Australia to title triumphs in WTC and World Cup final last year.
