Hardik Pandya's ex-teammate David Miller has created a unique record for his country and has joined an elite list in T20 cricket.
David Miller became the first-ever South African to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket, and only the third in the world to do so.

This historic achievement came during his stint with the Paarl Royals in the SA20 2024 tournament, specifically in the Eliminator match against the Joburg Super Kings. Despite Miller's personal success, the Paarl Royals were unable to secure a win, leading to their exit from the competition.
David Miller entered the game needing just 28 runs to reach the 10,000-run milestone. He successfully achieved this target, joining an elite group of international players who have reached this milestone in T20 cricket. Miller scored 47 runs in the match and now has 10,019 runs in T20 format.
Before this match, Miller, along with Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers, were the only South African batters to have scored over 9,000 runs in this format. With this achievement, Miller sits alone at the summit with the 10k record.
Throughout the SA20 2024 tournament, Miller showed commendable performance with the bat. Accumulating 240 runs across 10 matches, he maintained an average of 30 and a strike rate of 118.22.
David Miller has now become only the third player in the world to achieve the record. India stalwart Virat Kohli and West Indies legend Chris Gayle are the only players ahead of the Proteas star, who plays for Hardik Pandya's former team Gujarat Titans in the IPL.
The southpaw is expected to feature for the Titans in the upcoming edition of the tournament. Out of his 10,000 odd runs, IPL solely has contributed 2714 runs as the 34-year-old has represented three IPL franchises in his career.
He started his journey with Punjab Kings, went to Rajasthan Royals from there and now plays for the IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans.
