David Warner of Australia broke Chris Gayle's record for most fifties in T20 cricket in his side's T20 World Cup 2024 opener against Oman in Barbados on Thursday, June 6.
The 37-year-old opener match-winning 56 runs off 51 balls to surpass Chris Gayle's tally of 110 T20 fifties. Warner brought up his 111th T20 fifty and 27th T20I fifty with a six over long.

Australia were three down for 50 when Warner joined forces with Marcus Stoinis to record the second-highest partnership for the fourth wicket in T20I cricket for Australia. The duo scored 102 runs together off 64 balls.
David Warner also features in Australia's highest ever partnership for fourth wicket in T20I cricket. In 2016. Warner and Glenn Maxwell, who was dismissed for a duck against Oman, partnered for 161 runs in Johannesburg.
Among the list of batters with most fifties in T20 cricket, Virat Kohli features at third spot and is followed by Pakistan's Babar Azam and England's Jos Buttler.
All the four players except Chris Gayle, who has retired from international cricket, are featuring in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the West Indies.
