David Warner has pulled his name out of the five-match T20I series against India starting November 23 in Visakhapatnam. All-rounder Aaron Hardie has been added as his replacement. He made his ODI and T20I debuts during the white-ball tour of South Africa in September.
The decision from Warner comes after Australia's World Cup 2023 title triumph after beating India by six wickets in the final. Warner was the leading run-scorer for Australia in the tournament. He scored 535 at an average of 48.63.

The 37-year-old will head back home and prepare for his final Test summer. Warner has announced that he wishes to retire from Test cricket following the third Test against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from January 3.
However, the star opener is eyeing to feature in the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA, and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. He recently said he wouldn't take a CA contract in 2024-25 but would be available for white-ball selection.
"Selectors decided Warner would return home on the back of a successful yet demanding World Cup campaign," Cricket Australia said in a statement.
David Warner's withdrawal means just seven members of Australia's World Cup-winning ODI squad will remain in India for the series – Sean Abbott, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa. Tanveer Sangha, who was with the side as a reserve also featured in the squad.
