Australia opener David Warner has been ruled out of the last two Test matches against India due to an injury to his elbow which he sustained during the second Test against the hosts in Delhi.
Warner got x-rays done after being hit by a rising Mohammed Siraj delivery. The report subsequently confirmed that the left-hander had sustained a hairline fracture of the elbow which will keep him out of the remaining Tests. He was later hit on the grill of his helmet by another rising delivery from Siraj. He was later ruled out of the match due to concussion injury as Matt Renshaw replaced him in the second innings.
The 36-year-old struggled in his three Test outings in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23, scoring just 26 runs at an average of 8.66.

"David Warner has been ruled out of the Qantas test tour of India and will return home," CA said in a statement issued this afternoon.
"Warner was struck on the elbow in the second Test in Delhi and sustained a hairline fracture.
"After further assessment, he will require a period of rehabilitation which will preclude any further involvement in the remainder of the Test series.
"It is currently anticipated that he will return to India for the three One-Day Internationals which follow the Test Series."
Australia are dealing with a series of injuries and their playing stocks for the third Test in Indore has taken a massive hit. Pacer Josh Hazlewood has also returned back home after failing to recover from the Achilles injury. Off-spinner Todd Murphy is also battling a sore side. Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc have missed out on the opening two Tests due to fingers injuries, however, they are expected to be fit for the third Test which kicks off in Indore from March 1.
