Chasing a massive 339-run target, Australia were cruising at 157/2 in 18.4 overs when a David Warner shoe mishap led to the collapse of batting unit, paving a way to a thumping 111-run win against South Africa in the third ODI at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom.
On the fifth ball of the 19th over, Warner worked a Tabraiz Shamsi delivery towards midwicket and set off for a single but soon his right shoe, emblazoned with his wife's name 'Candy' on its side, fell off as he tripped. He recollected himself and made a desperate dive in the end but a direct-hit from Keshav Maharaj brought an end to his blazing knock off 78 runs off just 56 balls.

Warner's departure triggered a collapse and Australia were bundled out for 227 in 34.3 overs. Pacer Gerald Coetzee picked four wickets, while the spin duo of Shamsi and Maharaj picked two wickets apiece.
"I can't say we've seen that too many times in cricket," Australia captain Mitchell Marsh said after the defeat.
The match also witnessed Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma score 82 and 57 runs respectively. Aiden Markram then blasted 102 unbeaten runs off just 74 balls to fire South Africa to 338/6 in 50 overs.
The win also helped hosts South Africa to keep the 5-match ODI series alive. Australia had won the first and second ODI by three wickets and 123 runs respectively. The fourth ODI will be played in Centurion on Friday, September 15.
