Delhi Capitals have made the necessary edits to their squad ahead of the IPL 2024 auction on December 19.
The Capitals are one of the few teams who have never lifted the coveted tournament. And ahead of the IPL 2024, they are keen to formulate a strong unit which will go all the way.

Delhi Capitals submitted their retention list before the deadline and there are some big names whom they have let go ahead of the auction.
Prithvi Shaw had a dismal IPL 2023 but the Capitals have kept him in the squad. The dashing opener will have a huge season ahead of him. Along with Shaw, veteran pacer Ishant Sharma has also been retained, while youngsters Yash Dhull, Abhishek Porel and Vicky Ostwal are also part of their plans.
David Warner led the Capitals last season but Rishabh Pant is likely to lead them next year as the Indian swashbuckler may get fit before the IPL starts.
Both Manish Pandey and Sarfaraz Khan had a lean IPL 2023 and they will be up for the auction this year. Along with them, overseas stars Rovman Powell and Rilee Rossouw are also released.

As DC head into the auction with renewed hopes, they will have 9 slots available with 4 overseas slots. That means, the Capitals can buy a maximum of nine players in the auction and a maximum of four of them can be foreigners.
For the auction, Delhi Capitals will have INR 28.95 crore purse available as they have already spent INR 71.05 crore so far.
