DC vs CSK IPL 2026: Will Lungi Ngidi Play Today In The Second Innings Against Chennai?
Delhi Capitals got a major boost in their lineup in their ongoing encounter against the Chennai Super Kings. DC's star bowler Lungi Ngidi has returned to competitive action after suffering a scary head injury on April 25. The South African fast bowler had hit the back of his head on the ground while going for a catch in their game against Punjab.
The South African pacer was named in DC's Playing 11 for the ongoing match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against the Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

He was rushed to Max Hospital in Pusa Road for medical examination and treatment, and later discharged. The seamer soon returned to training and was cleared to play Tuesday's game, as the franchise's bowling coach Munaf Patel confirmed on match eve.
As for the match at hand, DC captain Axar Patel won the toss and elected to bat first against CSK. Ngidi replaced Kyle Jamieson in the Capitals' side, while the Super Kings made a couple of changes, bringing in West Indies left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein and pacer Gurjapneet Singh.
DC vs CSK: Delhi Post 155 Runs On The Board
Delhi Capitals recovered from a shaky start to post a competitive 156 against Chennai Super Kings in their Indian Premier League clash, thanks to a late surge led by Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi. After being put under pressure early on a sluggish surface, Delhi's top order struggled to get going, consuming 21 dot balls in the powerplay. Openers Pathum Nissanka (19) and KL Rahul (12) fell cheaply, leaving the hosts on the back foot.
The middle order collapse deepened the crisis as Noor Ahmad struck twice in quick succession, dismissing Karun Nair (13) and Nitish Rana (15). When skipper Axar Patel departed for just 2, Delhi were reeling at 69/5 in the 11th over.
Just when things looked bleak, Stubbs and Impact Player Rizvi staged a crucial recovery. The duo stitched together a 65-run partnership for the sixth wicket, stabilising the innings and shifting momentum. Stubbs played a composed knock of 38 off 31 balls, while Rizvi remained unbeaten on a brisk 40 off 24 deliveries. Delhi then exploded in the death overs, hammering 49 runs in the final three overs. Ashutosh Sharma chipped in with 14 before being run out, while Rizvi capped off the innings in style with a towering six off Anshul Kamboj in the final over.
For Chennai, Noor Ahmad was the standout bowler with figures of 2/22, while Akeal Hosein (1/19), Jamie Overton (1/5), and Gurjapneet Singh (1/29) provided good support.
Despite dominating large parts of the innings, CSK will now need to chase down 156 on a pitch that has already shown signs of uneven bounce and grip, setting up an intriguing second half.
