DC vs GT Dream11 prediction, IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans fantasy picks

By Aditya K Halder

DC vs GT Dream11 prediction, IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans will face off in match 7 of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday. This will be the Delhi Capitals' first home game of the season.

The outfit will like to make the most out of the home support as they lost their first game of the season to Lucknow Super Giants by a hefty margin away last weekend. Defending champions Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, made a winning start by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the season opener last Friday.

As far as head-to-head is concerned, Hardik Pandya-led side has a slight advantage as they won their first and sole encounter last year at a neutral venue (Pune) by 14 runs. Lockie Ferguson starred in that game but is now not a part of GT.

DC vs GT injury update, key players

DC injury update There's no new injury concern for Delhi Capitals before the match while South African pacers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi have joined the side after completing international duties.

DC key players Skipper David Warner comes into the game after scoring a half-century and the knock, despite being not his best knock, came after a string of poor results. Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan were unconvincing with the bat in the last game but are likely to retain their spots as they came to the IPL after a strong domestic season.

Sarfaraz's keeping, however, was questionable as the makeshift keeper dropped a dolly and missed a stumping as well. Mitchell Marsh was out for a first-ball duck in the LSG game but remains a hot favourite given his recent form against India in the ODIs. Axar Patel, meanwhile, is all set to be promoted up the order and is a pivotal part of the DC camp with his spin on a slow Kotla track. This makes Kuldeep Yadav's presence vital too.

South African Rilee Rossouw scored 30 in the last game and has been carrying his good form from the Pakistan Super League. Rovman Powell also came from PSL with a good show but has failed to maintain consistency, saying that it's hard to guess when he may just unleash himself at the opponent.

Among bowlers, Nortje is likely to walk into the line-up as the lead as his absence was felt in the last game. The pacer took five wickets in his last four white-ball international matches and took a five-for in Tests against Windies. Indian pacers Chetan Sakariya and Khaleel Ahmed are all set to retain their places after taking two wickets each in the last game while debutant Mukesh Kumar yielded a 0/34.

GT injury update David Miller has joined the side in a timely boost after Kane Williamson was ruled out of the tournament with an injury while fielding in the CSK game. GT are yet to name his replacement.

GT key players Miller, in fact, found form too as he scored a 91 against the Netherlands in an important ODI World Cup League game. GT opener Shubman Gill starred with the bat in the last game as he scored 63 while Wriddhiman Saha showed glimpses of his form with an innings of 25. Impact player Sai Sudharsan also left a positive impression with a 17-ball 22.

Among all-rounders, Hardik Pandya had an off day in the last game as he failed to pick a wicket and scored just eight with the bat. His recent form, however, suggests Pandya can't be kept silent for long. Fellow all-rounder Vijay Shankar found a place in the 11 and scored 27 but did throw his wicket away at a crucial juncture. The medium pacer wasn't asked to bowl as well.

Rahul Tewatia didn't bowl as well in the last game but may ask to do so on a traditionally slow Kotla track. This also makes the presence of Rashid Khan vital. The Afghan spinner took two wickets in the last game and has been in brilliant form this season. Pacers Mohammad Shami and Alzarri Joseph were also right on the money with two wickets each while Joshua Little proved a bit costly in a 1/41 spell.

DC vs GT pitch report

The pitch at Arun Jaitely stadium in New Delhi, previously known as Ferozeshah Kotla, is known to be a pitch on the slower side. The boundary dimension, however, is smaller with a quick outfield. The captain winning the toss may prefer to bat first as chasing has never been easy on the ground. The slow nature also makes the presence of spinners important here.
