Delhi Capitals registered their first victory of the season with a nail-biting victory over Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday (April 20) at the Arun Jaitley stadium.
In a low-scoring encounter, KKR could only manage 127 runs in their allotted 20 overs. DC bowlers did extremely well to restrict KKR and were cruising. The hosts started the chase in fantastic fashion as well courtesy of David Warner.
But the match went close as DC kept losing wickets in the middle overs. In the end, it was Axar Patel who ensured the first victory for the Capitals with four balls to spare.
With the win, DC open their account and have 2 points after six games, but they still remain at the bottom of the table. KKR, on the other hand, have 4 points after their six games and sit 8th in the table.

Nitish Rana (KKR Captain): "I think we were 15-20 runs short on such a difficult pitch. I take the responsibility for this, I should have stood there instead of throwing my wicket away. Credit to the bowlers though, I think the upcoming games will be good for us if we continue bowling and fighting like this.
We were just trying to delay the outcome, but they (DC) played really well in the powerplay, that's where they won the game. We need to play well as a team. We need to bowl like the way we did today, if we manage to sort these things out, we can fight better I guess."
David Warner (DC Captain): "Finally a win. We are really proud of our bowling unit. We scrapped to get the win and lost some wickets in cluster. But it is a great feeling to win the game. We had a good chat on areas to improve and we took the feedback, came back and played an okay game. Very happy"
Ishant Sharma (Player of the Match): "I was just waiting for my chance and I was thinking to win a game for my team. We talk a lot about the plans and we want to execute the plans. There is no lucky charm and we just want to win most of the games, we want to qualify for the playoffs and win the tournament."
Ishant Sharma played his first IPL game in 718 days and starred with a player-of-the-match performance.
