Kolkata Knight Riders' Sunil Narine capitalized on Delhi Capitals' failure to use Decision Review System (DRS) for a caught-behind call, to smash 85 off 39 balls in match 16 of IPL 2024 at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium in Vizag on Wednesday (April 3).
In the fourth over of the innings, Narine had nicked a delivery bowled by Ishant Sharma, but there was no big appeal nor did Rishabh Pant take the review despite Mitchell Marsh urging the skipper to go for the review.

Pant did, however, signal for a review, but the standing umpire informed the DC skipper that the 30 second time to take a referral had run out. The skipper and the team were disappointed after seeing the replay on the giant screen, which showed that Narine had indeed nicked it.
Narine was batting on 24 at this point, and made use of the repreive to add salt into the DC wounds has he smashed the fourth fastest fifty of the ongoing season by reaching the feat in 21 balls.
The West Indies all-rounder added more as he smashed 7 sixes and 7 fours during his knock before holing out to Pant off Marsh in the 13th over. By then, Narine had taken KKR well past 150 and also played a part in the team scoring the highest score in the powerplay - 88/1.
Narine shared a 104-run stand with debutant Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored 54 off 27 balls before he departed to Anrich Nortje in the 14th over of the innings.
DC and Pant were again at fault by not opting to take a review later in the match, allowing Shreyas Iyer a lifeline in the 15th over bowled by Rasikh Dhar. Both these decisions and some dropped catches cost DC dearly as KKR smashed the second highest total in IPL history.
Apart from Narine's 85 and Raghuvanshi's 54, Andre Russell (41 off 19) and Rinku Singh (26 off 8 balls) also took the DC bowlers to the cleaners in the run feast in Visakhapatnam.
