What is the issue with Axar Patel?

Axar Patel seems to be struggling with his left hand, especially in the fingers at the moment. During batting, after playing shots, the Capitals captain has been seen in pain, often looking at his left arm. The commentators have also expressed their concern for the DC captain.

The replays have shown the player was practising during the innings break and was also struggling after the impact with the ball.

What happened to Axar Patel?

The root of Axar Patel's finger distress came during fielding. In the flag end of the KKR batting, the India all-rounder fielded at the short mid-wicket and then fell over the ball after his dive. The incident occurred when he attempted a low dive, resulting in visible discomfort as he clutched his hand and fingers. Consequently, he left the field mid-match, necessitating a change in captaincy for DC as Faf du Plessis took over the duties.

At the moment, Axar continues to bat on 26 runs in just 14 deliveries despite the pain. Delhi Capitals are also looking on course to the target as they are 114 for 3 in the 12th over.
