DC vs LSG: Delhi Capitals secured a thrilling one-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in the fourth match of the Indian Premier League 2025. Chasing a challenging target of 210, DC reached 211/9 in 19.3 overs, thanks to a spectacular 66* off 31 balls from impact-sub Ashutosh Sharma.
Lucknow Super Giants posted 209/8 in their 20 overs, driven by Mitchell Marsh's explosive 72 off 36 balls and Nicholas Pooran's 75 off 30. Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers for DC, claiming 4/32, while Kuldeep Yadav chipped in with two crucial wickets.

In response, DC faced early trouble, losing three wickets for just seven runs. Faf du Plessis' steady 29 and Axar Patel's 22 stabilized the innings, but it was Ashutosh Sharma's blistering knock that kept the chase alive. Despite Vipraj Nigam's 39 and Tristan Stubbs' 34, DC lost wickets at regular intervals. With two runs needed off the final three balls, Ashutosh sealed the win in dramatic fashion.
If we look at the turning point of the match, it has to be Ashutosh Sharma's blistering unbeaten knock, which entirely shifted the momentum of the game towards Delhi Capitals. But there was also one underrated incident that actually culminated in LSG's loss.
In the first ball of the 19th over, Shahbaz Ahmed bowled a sharp-turning delivery on a good length, deceiving Mohit Sharma, who missed his attempted shot. The ball clipped his back pad, and Rishabh Pant had a brief chance to stump him but failed to gather the ball cleanly. Despite the missed stumping, Lucknow Super Giants reviewed for LBW, believing the ball might hit the stumps. However, ball-tracking showed that the sharp turn caused it to miss the off-stump, resulting in the on-field decision being upheld.
Had it been a wicket there, things might've gone in Lucknow's favour.
