DC vs MI Injury Update, IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians Squads

DC vs MI injury update, IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals will host Mumbai Indians for match No. 16 of the Indian Premier League season 16 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday. The game will be all about shedding the tag of the bogey team of the season as both sides are yet to taste a win.

Languishing at the bottom of the table, DC and MI have lost all their games this season with the former losing one more than their opponents at three. David Warner-led Capitals lost to Lucknow Super Giants (away), Gujarat Titans (home), and Rajasthan Royals (A).

Rohit-Sharma-led Mumbai Indians began their season with a lopsided defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore away, followed by another shambolic show against Chennai Super Kings in front of home fans at the Wankhede Stadium.

Their struggles at the IPL 2023 is down to some major injuries on both sides and we take a look at them.

DC vs MI injury update

DC injury update Delhi Capitals are without two key players for the game as Mitchell Marsh is on a leave back home for his wedding while pacer Khaleel Ahmed suffered a hamstring injury against Royals in the last game. The side already lost their captain Rishabh Pant before the start of the season as the cricketer recovers from a car accident from late last year.

Likely replacements Mitchell Marsh is replaced in the line-up by Rovman Powell, who has struggled to perform in IPL so far. The West Indies cricketer, however, played some good knocks for the national team and in Pakistan Super League. As far as Khaleel is concerned, DC have plenty of backup options in Ishant Sharma and Kamlesh Nagarkoti. Among foreign players, Mustafizur Rahman and Lungi Ngidi are also at the side's disposal.

MI injury update Pacer Jofra Archer remains uncertain for the game and has weakened the five-time champions big time with Jasprit Bumrah unable to take part in the tournament. Coach Mark Boucher showed confidence in the medical team of MI to help the pacer recover soon but didn't make it clear if the Englishman will play the game.

Likely replacement: Jason Behrendorff did a decent job with a spell of 1/24 in the last game but the bowling attack appeared toothless against CSK, who had little difficulty in chasing down a total of 158. This may pave the way in the line-up for Riley Meredith, who certainly adds much-needed pace with the ability to bowl 150 clicks but is infamous for leaking runs.
