In Match 43 of IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals will welcome five-time champion Mumbai Indians at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday (April 27).

Both the teams had met each other 34 times in the past and MI got the edge as they had won 19 of them, while DC was victorious on 15 occasions. In their last three face-offs, Mumbai had won all of the three.

DC vs MI

In this season Delhi has won five out of nine games they played and is positioned at sixth in the points table. Whereas ninth-placed Mumbai had won just three games in the tournament so far.

IPL 2024 DC vs MI: Bowling Squad Comparison

DC have a balanced bowling unit this season. In the spin department, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel are doing well but the DC pace attack is not complimenting the same. Anrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed all are leaking runs. Ishant Sharma will miss the match due to injury. However, the DC spin attack is the most successful in this season, with bagging 21 wickets so far.

On the other hand, Mumbai's bowling attack is too dependent on Jasprit Bumrah and he is performing exceptionally well. Except Gerald Coetzee no other MI bowler has stepped up to the level yet to leave a mark in this tournament. Bowlers like Nuwan Thusara, Akash Madhwal and Shreyas Gopal are yet to deliver some noteworthy performances. In the spin unit, MI lack the expertise they have in their pace battery. In this season MI has the worst spin attack with only six wickets till now.

IPL 2024 DC vs MI: Top Three Wicket-takers in Match 43

Kuldeep Yadav (DC): The 29-year-old left-arm wrist spinner has 12 wickets in six matches with a decent economy rate. Yadav has 83 wickets in his IPL career. Being a rare breed of chinaman bowler always makes him an X-factor for opponents and he is expected to do the same in the upcoming matches.

Jasprit Bumrah (MI): With 13 wickets in eight matches Bumrah is leading the race for the Purple Cap. The 31-year-old Indian fast bowler has maintained a decent economy rate of 6.38 in this season. Against Rishabh Pant he will be crucial, as the DC skipper has been dismissed six times in the past. The right-arm fast bowler has also dismissed Prithvi Shaw and Axar Patel multiple times in the past.

Gerald Coetzee (MI): Along with Bumrah, the 23-year-old made a formidable pace attack for MI. Despite his less experience in the IPL, the right-arm fast bowler has bagged 12 wickets in this IPL. It will be a challenge for the DC top-order batters to face him in the early overs of the innings.

At this point of the tournament, all the matches will be a do-or-die match for both of the teams to secure a spot in the playoffs. DC's batting is too dependent on Rishabh Pant, but it is high time for others to step up against a comparatively weaker MI bowling attack. While MI batters are in good form, it will be a challenge for the DC bowlers too to contain MI within a small score. Hence, a highly competitive battle is expected from these two rivals in this Saturday evening match.
