Delhi Capitals (DC) will look to avenge reverse fixture loss and start their home campaign on a winning note when they face champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 12 of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 on Tuesday (March 5) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals has won three on the trot since losing the tournament-opener to Harmanpreet Kaur's Mumbai Indians, who have lost one and two since that result with the two victories coming under the leadership of Nat Sciver-Brunt.

DC are fresh from a 25-run victory over Gujarat Giants to sit on the top of WPL 2024 points table, while MI come into the match after a 7-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore, moving them to second in the standings.

Now, the two best sides of the inaugural Women's Premier League, DC and MI will get a chance to meet for the fifth time in WPL and for the first time in Delhi, having met previously in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Here is a look at the head to head record before DC vs MI WPL 2024 Match 12:

MI vs DC WPL Head-To-Head

In season 1, MI won the first encounter against DC, while DC avenged that loss in the reverse fixture. Both the matches were played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

In the reverse fixture of season 2, Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey and Alice Capsey took two wickets each to restrict MI to 109/8. In the chase, Sahafali Verma, Lanning and Capsey played quickfire knocks to power DC to a 9-wicket win with 11 overs to spare.

The two sides then clashed in the final, where Matthews figures of 3 for 5 in 4 overs helped restrict DC to 131 before Nat Sciver-Brunt's unbeaten 60 off 55 balls sealed the title for MI with 7 wickets and 3 balls to spare.

In season 2 first fixture, DC rode on Capsey's 75 to post a challenging total of 171/5 in their allotted 20 overs, but MI, who stuttered in the final moments of the chase, reached the target riding on fifties from Yastika Bhatia and Harmanpreet as well as a last-ball six from Sajeevan Sajana.
