Who won yesterday's WPL Final: Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt starred as Mumbai Indians (MI) lifted their second WPL title following an 8-run victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Women’s Premier League season 3 final in Mumbai on Saturday (March 15).
Put into bat, Mumbai Indians lost their openers early, but skipper Harmanpreet and Sciver-Brunt steadied ship and helped post a challenging total of 149/7 in their allotted 20 overs at the Brabourne Stadium.

In response, Delhi Capitals lost their in-form skipper Meg Lanning and her opening partner Shafali Verma inside 3 overs, and then kept losing wickets in regular intervals after the powerplay.
With the score at 83/6, DC were down and out, but Marizanne Kapp, who had delivered with the ball, stepped up alongside Niki Prasad to keep the chase alive, but their efforts went in vain as the Capitals fell short by 8 runs and lost their third successive WPL title clash.
MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur received the player of the match award for her fighting fifty with the bat, which helped Mumbai Indians set a challenging target and in the end break DC hearts for the third successive season.
Mumbai Indians skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was the top run-getter on the night with 66 off 44 balls, while Delhi Capitals’ Marizanne Kapp (40 off 26 balls) was the next highest run-scorer in yesterday’s finale.
MI all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt (3/30 in 4 overs) was the top wicket-taker on the night, while several others, including Amelia Kerr, Marizanne Kapp, N Charani and Jess Jonassen all claimed two wickets each to finish as second joint highest wicket-takers.
