DC vs RCB, IPL 2023: 4 Players Who Will Score Most Runs In Today's Match

Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday (May 6). In the first match of the season between the two teams, RCB defeated DC by 23 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Delhi Capitals are currently placed last in the ten-team points table. They pulled off an upset win over defending champions and table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) in their last match, giving them slim hopes of going up the table.

David Warner, Axar Patel, Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, are in the fifth spot now after overcoming Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their last outing in a low-scoring thriller to stay alive in the tightly contested playoff race.

As the two teams clash against each other for the second time in the season, let's have a look at top four batters who can score most runs in the DC vs RCB match.

Virat Kohli: RCB star batter Kohli has a great record against DC, scoring 999 runs against them so far in IPL. In the nine IPL 2023 matches, he has scored 364 runs, including 5 fifties, at an average of 42.50 and a strike rate of 137.87.

In the previous outing against DC this season, Kohli scored 50 off 34 balls. The innings consisted of 6 fours and a six. On current form and previous records, Kohli is expected to add to his tally against DC.

David Warner: The Australian opener has once again had a consistent scoring run in IPL, but has been striking at a very slow pace. Warner has so far scored 308 runs, including 4 fifties, in 9 innings of IPL 2023 at an average of 34.22 and a poor strike rate of 118.46.

In his last outing against RCB earlier this season, Warner scored 19 off 13 balls as DC struggled to chase down a target. The Aussie, however, has a great overall record against RCB. He has so far amassed 839 runs, including 9 fifties, against the Bangalore-based side.

Axar Patel: Axar has been in great form with the bat for national team as well as DC. He is unsurprisingly DC's second highest run-scorer despite batting lower down the order.

The all-rounder has so far scored 238 runs, including a fifty, in 9 innings in IPL 2023 at an average of 34 and strike rate of 133.70. In the last meeting with RCB, Axar scored 21 off 14 balls. If he bats up the order or gets time in the middle, he is expected to add runs.

Faf Du Plessis: The RCB skipper Du Plessis is the leading run-scorer in IPL 2023, having scored 466 runs, including 5 fifties, in 9 innings at an average of 58.25 and a strike rate of 159.58. He missed out on scoring earlier this season against DC.

The South African has also struggled for runs against DC. Overall, he has played 16 matches against DC and scored 372 runs at an average of 24.80 and a strike rate of 116.98. But on current form, Du Plessis may finally score at ease against DC.
