Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi to host DC vs RCB IPL 2023 Match 50

This will be the second meeting between DC and RCB this season. In the reverse fixture last month in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli and Vyshak Vijaykumar starred as the Bangalore-based side registered a 23-run victory over the Capitals.

The two sides will now clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, which will host it's fifth match of the season. DC had suffered defeats to Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, but stopped the slide with a win over KKR before suffering another defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Ahead of DC vs RCB 2023 meeting at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, we take a look at the pitch report and weather forecast for the day as some parts of the country have received summer showers.

New Delhi weather forecast on Saturday, May 6

Starts off as a sunny day and is expected to turn into a cloudy day with a maximum temperature of 29o C during the playing hours. Although it will be cloudy, there is no chance of rain. So, weather is unlikely to play spoilsport in match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report

Arun Jaitley Stadium is a venue that has produced a mixture of a few high-scoring contests and some low-scoring thrillers. The average score batting first in IPL here is 162. In the evening match, there is a possibility of dew in the later part of the match.

The first match in IPL 2023 saw the hosts struggled to get to 162 riding on Axar Patel's cameo of 36, but the visiting GT side rode on B Sai Sudarshan unbeaten fifty to reach the target with 6 wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare.

In the second match, Axar once again starred for DC with a 25-ball 54, but that knock went in vain as the target of 173 was chased down with 6 wickets in hand by Mumbai Indians in a last-ball thriller after a Rohit Sharma fifty.

In the third match that was delayed by rain, DC bundled out KKR for a paltry 127, but were made to work by the Kolkata spinners to reach the target despite a fast start provided by Warner, who scored a fifty. In the end, DC won by 4 wickets.

In the fourth and most recent match, Sunrisers Hyderabad rode on a couple of fifties to set a challenging target of 198 and restricted the hosts to 188 after fighting knocks from Mitchell Marsh and Phil Salt went in vain in the 9-run loss.

Three matches this season has seen the chasing side win the contest, while the most recent one saw the team defend come out on top. The venue history, however, suggests the team batting second has a huge advantage. So, the captain that wins the toss will have no hesitation to follow that pattern.
