Delhi Capitals registered a fantastic victory over Rajasthan Royals to keep their playoff hopes alive on Tuesday (May 7) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The Capitals needed a win to keep their hopes intact, and they delivered in the must-win match in front of home supporters. With the defeat, the Royals squandered their opportunity to reclaim the summit spot in the points table.

After winning the Toss, Sanju Samson chose to field. Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel gave the Capitals a perfect start. The pair added 60 runs for the first wicket and the Australian scored 50 off just 19 balls.
Porel continued his batting prowess and notched up his maiden IPL fifty. The southpaw from Bengal scored 65 runs off 36 balls to provide the momentum for DC. Tristan Stubbs played a fantastic knock at the end with 41 runs in just 20 balls as the hosts amassed 221 runs in 20 overs. For the Royals, Yuzvendra Chahal capped off with a milestone as the leg-spinner got his 350th T20 wicket. Ravichandran Ashwin was the best bowler with 3 for 24 in his four overs.
In the run chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal fell early after just 4 runs. Jos Buttler (19 off 17) and Riyan Parag (27 off 22) failed to up the ante but captain Sanju Samson was sublime. The India batter scored 86 runs off 46 balls and held the innings together for the Royals. After Samson's dismissal in controversial circumstances, the Royals' innings became wayward. Rovman Powel and Donovan Ferreira couldn't make any mark as Kuldeep Yadav weaved his magic with excellent bowling. In the end, the Royals could only manage 201 runs and fell to consecutive defeats.
