In Match 56 of IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals will host Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday (May 6).
DC have won five matches out of eleven, and sit in sixth in the points table. In their last match, they lost to KKR by seven wickets. On the other hand, their opponents RR have been brilliant throughout the season. Just losing two matches out of ten, the Royals are currently in second position with 16 points.

The Capitals and the Royals have met each other on 28 occasions and RR have won 15 of them, while DC did the same 13 times. In their last three duels, RR emerged victorious.
DC's bowling unit has been far from being one of the best this season. Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, and Anrich Nortje will manage the pace attack against the Royals, while Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav lead the spin attack. 's spin attack has been one of the most successful this season with 23 wickets.
On the other hand, the Royals have a very balanced and experienced bowling squad this season. Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Kuldeep Sen, all the RR pacers are in form, while the spin department will be led by Yuzvendra Chahal.
Kuldeep Yadav (DC): The left-arm wrist spinner has bagged 12 wickets so far, but failed to scalp any opponent's batter in the last two matches. The 29-year-old Chinaman bowler will be crucial against Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmeyer in the early and death overs of the match.
Mukesh Kumar (DC): The 30-year-old Indian pacer has 13 wickets in this IPL in just seven matches. The right-arm medium pacer is also the highest wicket-taker for DC this year. Though Kumar remains expensive, he will be handy against RR to get an early breakthrough.
Sandeep Sharma (RR): The 30-year-old right-arm medium-fast bowler got limited chances in this IPL, and yet picked up 9 wickets in only five matches. His economy rate is also excellent for a fast bowler. In the middle overs, he will be crucial in preventing DC-batters from scoring a big total.
Yuzvendra Chahal (RR): The Indian right-arm leg spinner is currently the highest wicket-taker for RR with 13 wickets in ten matches. The only bowler in the IPL with 200 wickets remains pivotal for RR throughout the season and also got selected for the upcoming T20 WC. His performances in the remainder of the IPL will be vital for RR.
With four matches in hand, the visitors need just one win to secure a spot in the playoffs. Along with KKR, the Royals have already set a foot to cement their spots for the first two places in the points table. But for the hosts, the situation is quite different. With 10 points and only three matches remaining, they have to win all of them to keep their play-offs dream alive. Hence, the fixture will be very important for both the teams and a cutthroat competition will be expected from this game.
