New Delhi, April 28: Delhi Capitals (DC) will look to do the double and continue their winning run when they host Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 40 of IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday (April 29).
David Warners’s DC will look to carry on the winning momentum following their second victory of the season over Sunrisers, while Aiden Markram-led SRH will look to bounce back from back-to-back defeats following recent result versus DC.
Both teams occupy the last two spots in the IPL 2023 points table and will be desperate for a win to stay alive in the playoff race. DC will be a confident side heading into the match thanks to the reverse fixture win
But, it's the visitors, who have the advantage in this fixture over the years when the match is played away as they have had most successful side in their visits to Arun Jaitley Stadium.
In the 22 meetings between the two sides in IPL since 2013, SRH and DC have both won 11 times against each other in the cash-rich league. In the last 6 meetings, however, it’s 5-1 in favour of DC.
In the reverse fixture, DC rode on Axar Patel’s all-round brilliance to seal a 7-run win. Mayank Agarwal’s fighting 49 and Heinrich Klaasen’s late cameo went in vain for the Sunrisers as the DC spin twins Axar and Kuldeep Yadav combined to apply the strangle.
In New Delhi, DC and SRH have clashed 5 times so far. It's advantage SRH as they have beaten DC in their own backyard 4 times, while the Delhi-based side has won just 1 time against the Hyderabad-based side at home.
