Sunrisers Hyderabad surged to the second position in the IPL 2024 points table following their commanding 68-run victory over Delhi Capitals on Saturday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Opting to bat first, SRH's formidable batting lineup once again delivered an impressive performance, propelling them to a formidable total. With consistent performances throughout the tournament, SRH has rightfully earned their place in the top half of the points table at the midway mark. IPL 2024 Orange Cap Leader | Purple Cap

Pat Cummins-led side continued its dominance with another massive total of 266/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Shahbaz Ahmed belted DC bowlers to post a formidable total.
In response, Delhi Capitals faced early setbacks with the dismissals of openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner. But Jake Fraser McGurk and Abishek Porel provided some resistance, keeping the run chase alive.
McGurk smashed a 65 off 18 balls and even smashed the fastest fifty of IPL 2024. But once he and Porel were dismissed, other Delhi batters failed to keep the momentum going.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: 266/7 in 20 overs (Travis Head 89, Shahbaz Ahmed 59; Kuldeep Yadav 4/55). Delhi Capitals: 199 all out in 19.1 overs (Jake Fraser-McGurk 65, Rishabh Pant 44; T Natarajan 4/19). Result: Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 68 runs
Rishabh Pant, Losing Captain: (On decision to bowl first) I think the only thought process behind it was there could be dew which didn't come, but we would still have had a chance had we restricted them to 220-230. The powerplay was the difference, they got (125) runs and we ended up playing the catching game.
The ball stopped more in the 2nd innings, which was more than we anticipated, but when we needed to chase 260, 270, you'll need to keep scoring. Hopefully, we'll come up with more thought processes and a clear mindset going forward.
(On Fraser-McGurk) His batting has been phenomenal, he's been batting nicely for us, that's what we need to do as a team, be together and look at areas where we can improve going into the next game.
Pat Cummins, the winning skipper: (On 4th consecutive win for SRH in Delhi) Good record here, another great game of cricket. We need to keep that going. There wasn't much for the bowlers in the powerplay. (The pitch) Got better for the bowlers when the ball got softer. Very excited to see them batting, but got to bowl in the second half. We were really disciplined with the ball, the bowlers executed their plans.
Travis Head, Player of the Match: It's nice, we are on a roll. The boys are playing well, very enjoyable. Just tried to stay relaxed and hit the ball. Need to keep things simple, need to react to the balls. Very pleased to continue with the same form.
(On Abhishek Sharma) He plays well in the powerplay. He's aggressive against spin, just let him do his things. Very enjoyable partnership with him. It's hard to pick which guys are going to be the (impact) sub, everyone can bowl and contribute. Nice to have a lot of options, we are able to score such high scores because of so many options available.
It has also been difficult for our bowlers in the powerplay, but we did an exceptional job tonight. Just getting back into the swing of things (in the shortest format), nice to be batting top of the order.
