DC vs SRH: 'Kavya Maran must be...' - Fans empathize with SRH Owner after Batting Mishap in Vizag

By MyKhel Staff

Sunrisers Hyderabad had an underwhelming batting display as they got bundled out for just 163 runs against Delhi Capitals on Sunday (March 30).

The star-studded SRH batting lineup struggled from the get go, losing wickets in regular intervals. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the innings for SRH, but the start was far from ideal.

DC vs SRH Kavya Maran must be - Fans empathize with SRH Owner after Batting Mishap in Vizag

Sharma was run out after managing just a single run, and Ishan Kishan followed soon after, dismissed for just 2. India's all-rounder Nitish Reddy came in next but couldn't get off the mark, falling to Mitchell Starc, who picked up his second wicket. The dangerous Travis Head was the next to depart, edging one behind to fellow Australian and debutant KL Rahul, who was keeping wickets for the Capitals.

Aniket Verma was the only bright spot as the youngster played a terrific knock of 74 runs in just 41 deliveries. Heinrich Klaasen (32 off 19) also played a decent knock but the duo lost wickets at crucial stages and that curtailed the SRH innings at just 163 runs.

Before the start of the season, the SRH team was being tipped to score more than 300 runs. Although they started in fantastic fashion against Rajasthan Royals, their last batting outings have been underwhelming. They have been bowled out in their last two matches, which is not an ideal situation for the lofty expectation that everyone has in Heirich Klaasen, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and company.

Fans were very disappointed with the batting, but they empathized with SRH owner Kavya Maran. Maran has been a regular supporter of the team and travels across the country during the IPL season to support her team. She was not captured in Vizag, but the SRH faithful were concerned about the team and the owner as well.

She is a passionate fan of the SRH team and acts more than just an owner. The batting performance must have been very difficult for her.

It hasn't been the best of batting outing again for the SRH openers. The top-order had a dismal collapse in front of Mitchell Starc.

The SRH batting display had only one positive, which is the massive knock from Aniket Verma. This user credited Kavya Maran for picking up the gem. But it is likely that the SRH think tank, scouts played the biggest part in signing Verma in the mega auction.

A fan advised the SRH owner to add two players who may propel SRH to win the IPL title. The fan suggests Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Starc will be the key to their success.

This fan believes the Vizag ground didn't bode luck for the Hyderabad outfit. Delhi Capitals made the Vizag stadium as their adopted home for two matches.

There was a lot of talk about SRH scoring 300 and more regularly in the IPL 2025 season. They started in sublime fashion in the first match against RR but their next two displays have been underwhelming compared to the lofty expectations.
