Meanwhile, DC skipper Axar Patel admitted he would have preferred to bat as well but remains confident in his side's bowling attack to restrict SRH to a manageable total.

Toss and Captain’s Call

Pat Cummins (SRH Captain): "We’ll have a bat. Afternoon game, tends to be hot. We put on some big scores (last season). We weren’t worried either way. We were a long way from our best in the last game. The boys are still positive. Zeeshan comes in."

Axar Patel (DC Captain): "We would have batted as well. We’ll look to restrict them to a low score. We have played one game here, we were working on our plans. We need to be brave as a bowling unit. We have certain plans. One change, Sameer Rizvi is out, KL Rahul is in."

Pitch Report

Danny Morrison and WV Raman provided insights into the playing surface, highlighting its unique composition. "The sun is out. Dimensions - 66m and 60m square boundaries, downtown - 73m. This surface has got an interesting composition - black soil with red soil beneath it. We can expect the batters to have a field day. There might be some assistance for the spinners later in the day."

With a hard and dry pitch, expect high scores, especially with SRH's attacking mindset. However, as the game progresses, spinners could come into play, making Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav crucial for DC's defence.

Key Players to Watch

Mitchell Starc – The SRH Destroyer?

Delhi Capitals' marquee pacer Mitchell Starc has had a history of troubling Sunrisers Hyderabad's top order. In the previous season's Qualifier 1 and final, he dismissed Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma in his first over and was awarded Player of the Match in both encounters. His incredible record against left-handers in T20s since 2023-averaging 15.33 with a strike rate of 9.7-makes him a key threat for SRH's left-handed opening duo.

KL Rahul’s DC Debut

One of the biggest talking points for Delhi Capitals is KL Rahul's inclusion. The experienced batter, who has switched teams this season, will be making his debut for DC. His role in the batting order remains to be seen, but his presence provides stability to the middle order. Given DC's top-order struggles in their previous game against LSG, his addition could be vital.

Delhi Capitals: Can They Build on Their Comeback Victory?

DC's previous game against Lucknow Super Giants saw them in deep trouble at 65/5 while chasing 210. However, a sensational knock from Ashutosh Sharma, aided by contributions from Vipraj Nigam and Tristan Stubbs, helped them pull off a stunning victory. With the inclusion of KL Rahul, DC's batting line-up looks more formidable. Their bowling unit, featuring Starc, Kuldeep, and Mohit Sharma, will be looking to break SRH's aggressive batting approach early.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: The Aggressive Approach Continues

SRH have adopted a fearless brand of cricket, evident in their high-scoring games. Even though they put up 190 runs in their last match against LSG, it wasn't enough, as LSG chased it down with ease. Despite that loss, SRH are unlikely to change their strategy. They have a deep batting line-up, with the explosive Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma at the top, followed by power-hitters like Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Match Atmosphere: Local Flavour in Visakhapatnam

This Super Sunday clash is special, as it falls on Ugadi, a grand festival in Visakhapatnam. With Hyderabad being relatively close to the city, both teams can expect strong support. Adding to the excitement, local talent Nitish Kumar Reddy is featuring in the SRH line-up, making the occasion even more special for the home fans.
