DD ready with arrangements to telecast tomorrow's ODI

New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) Welcoming the Delhi High Court order on telecast of India-West Indies ODI, Prasar Bharati CEO B S Lalli today said that million of cricket lovers would now be able to watch tomorrow's match.

''Prasar Prasar Bharati is making all arrangements to telecast the match on DD National. All India Radio will broadcast live running commentary on 65 stations across the country. Other modalities are being worked out with Nimbus,'' he said in a statement here.

Millions of people could not watch the first ODI as Doordarshan could not teleacst it as it had rejected the Nimbus offer to delay its telecast by 15 minutes. DD wanted that Nimbus should give its feed live under the new government guidelines.

The Delhi High Court in an interim order today said public broadcaster Prasar Bharti can download the feed of Nimbus Comunications, who have the sole telecast rights of the India-West Indies ODI series, and transmit with a delay of seven minutes on Doordarshan(DD) and broadcast commentary live on the All India Radio(AIR).

Yesterday, the Nimbus Communications went to the High Court challenging the Central Government's guidelines under which to private channels were to share the live feed of the ongoing India-West Indies cricket series with the Doordarshan.
