DDCA finally forms Cricket Improvement Committee

New Delhi, Feb 24 (PTI) The Delhi and District CricketAssociation has finally formed a 13-member Cricket ImprovingCommittee under the chairmanship of its president Arun Jaitleyto prevent incidents like the 2009 Feroze Shah Kotla pitchfiasco happening in near future.

The demand for such a committee had gained ground for along time and the pitch episode, which led to the abandonmentof the India-Sri Lanka ODI in 2009, had triggered a wave ofprotests against the current office bearers.

Apart from Jaitley, the committee includes formercricketers in Bishen Singh Bedi, who is the co-chairman, KirtiAzad, Madan Lal, Maninder Singh and Surinder Khanna.

DDCA general secretary SP Bansal is the convenor of thecommittee, which also includes three DDCA vice-presidents,sports secretary, two joint secretaries and convenor of theSports Working Committee as special invitees.
