Gujarat Giants injury update, team news
Gujarat Giants have reported no fresh injury concerns as well and will aim to keep themselves in the play-off runs, However, there are problems aplenty for the Ahmedabad-based franchise.
Table-toppers made lightwork of them in the last game as the struggling side could only manage 107 runs in 20 overs while chasing 163 and the problem starts right at the top of the batting order.
S Meghana continues to struggle
The lack of depth of Indian players is telling in the Gujarat team. Opener S Meghana's dismal show with 50 runs over five innings and still keeping her spot explains why Gujarat have very less to change despite the miserable show.
The opener saw the opening partner changed thrice in Beth Mooney, Sophia Dunkley, and Laura Wolvaardt. And Dunkley has been the only player who played a substantial knock of 65 against RCB women in the win but was dropped right after in a surprise move by the franchise.
The English batter returned to the team after that but was gone for a first-ball duck.
Harleen Deol, sole Indian performer with bat
Harleen Deol has been the only Indian player in the Gujarat sqaud, who looked out of place in a struggling team with 155 runs in her last four innings. The young batter, however, failed to score big in the last two innings with knocks of 20 and 22.
Middle-order batter Dayalan Hemalatha showed form early in the season but in the last three innings she could only score 27 runs.
Sutherland's form a concern
The onus of scoring runs in the middle-order was largely on Annabelle Sutherland but the Australian has managed just 28 runs in five games and her bowling has been largely ineffective with just three wickets to her name. She also conceded 42 runs in the last game as the costliest Warriorz bowler.
Gardner exploits conditions
Ashleigh Gardner's bat hasn't fired runs as well with just 52 runs in the last five innings. The batter scored 8 and a duck in her last two outings as well. However, the all-rounder will keep her spot in the line-up as she took 3/34 in the last game.
In the lower order, Skipper Sneh Rana and wicketkeeper Sushma Verma got some runs under their bat with innings of 20 runs (19 balls) and 18 (19) as Gujarat batting order fallacies were exposed.
Rana also decent job with the ball as she gave away just 17 runs in four overs for a wicket against a strong Mumbai Indians batting order with the pitch turning more conducive for the spinners.
Tanuja Kanwar also did a decent job with a spell of 1/32 while pacer Kim Garth (1/31) got himself a wicket as well.

Delhi Capitals injury update, team news, key players
There's no injury reported from the Delhi Capitals camp on the eve of the match and will be heading into the game with full strength after beating Royal Challengers Bangalore and Thursday's rivals Gujarat Giants in the last game.
Shafali Verma struggling to be consistent
Openers Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma are guaranteed their spots in the line-up with Lanning also leading the Orange Cap race with 221 runs. Verma is also on the top run-getters race with 179 runs but her consistency has always been a concern.
The Indian top-order batter is unstoppable on her day as Verma played hard-hitting knocks such as 84 and 76* this WPL while having a strike rate of 190.42. However, she has also disappointed with innings of 0, 2 and 17 in other innings. Lanning too had an off-day in her last game with a knock of 15.
Delhi Capitals' middle order takes pressure off top order
However, the pressure has reduced on them with the likes of Alice Capsey, Marizzane Kapp, Jemimah Rodrigues continue to score runs in the middle-order.
Capsey, who missed out on the Giants game earlier, dealt in boundaries with eight fours during her 24-ball 38 knock against RCB while Jemimah played another crucial 32-run innings after scoring 25, 34* and 22* in the innings before while batting at No. 4.
Jonassen have been influential in the death overs, striking at the rate of 192.10 while Kapp has been averaging 44.50. The duo has been influential with the ball too with nine wickets between them. Kapp, in particular, has picked six wickets and has bowled the most dot deliveries (67) so far while Jonassen has bowled 42.
Shikha Pandey takes charge of pace bowling
Pacer Shikha Pandey has brought her years of experience into the tournament with six wickets in the last game as the pitches have turned more conducive to bowl on. She bowled 3/23 and 3/26 in her last two spells at the DY Patil while sharing seam bowling duty with Kapp. She may relish bowling at the Brabourne, which provides more help for pacers with the new ball.
Spinner Radha Yadav hasn't made much of a difference this WPL with just a wicket in five games.
The spin department is looked after by Jess Jonassen and Capsey but in absence of the latter, the franchise brought in domestic spinner Minnu Mani, who proved economical with 18 runs in three overs but fail to pick any wickets.
Jonassen, on the other hand, has gone without wickets in two games but an experienced spinner of her calibre is hard to keep away from taking scalps for long.

Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Giants pitch report DEL-W vs GUJ-W
Brabourne Stadium's pitch has slowed down considerably since the tournament began. Spinners have begun to take charge of the bowling attack with the ball gripping on the surface before coming to the bat. Dew has no role to play at this time of the year as batters are only able to score runs after spending some time in the middle. Anything above 160 could be a good total to defend.
