'Delete this right now': Dinesh Karthik tells fan on being reminded of his 2019 World Cup failure in semis

Dinesh Karthik asked a fan to delete his post after being reminded of his failure in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup against New Zealand. In the match Karthik had scored six runs off 25 balls.

India wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik asked a fan to bring down his Twitter post after being reminded of his 2019 World Cup failure in the semi-final clash against New Zealand.

The incident happened during while the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star was conducting an question and answer session with his fans on Tuesday.

"One word about Ur goated inning in SF #Askdk," the fan asked with a screenshot of the 37-year-old's score in the all-important clash which India lost by 18 runs. Notably, Karthik, who had come in to bat at number five, was dismissed for six off 25 balls in the match. The top three of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli scored one run each.



Dinesh Karthik was dropped from the Indian team after the match and hasn't played an ODI match since the match. However, the veteran cricketer made he stunning international comeback and represented India in the T20 World Cup 2022. In the marquee event in Australia, he scored 14 runs in four matches at an average of 4.66. The Tamil Nadu has been dropped once again and will be next seen plying his trade in the IPL 2023 for RCB.

Overall, he has featured in 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 60 T20Is for India and scored 1025, 1752 and 686 runs respectively.

On the professional front ahead of the IPL 2023, Karthik is all set to make his home debut as a commentator for the upcoming four-match Test series between India and Australia (Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23). In his previous stint, Karthik joined the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and commentated during India's tour of England in 2021.

"The Weatherman DK is back on popular demand for India vs. Australia. First assignment today at 5.30 pm on Instagram," Karthik wrote alongside his Tweet on Monday, February 6. Interestingly, Karthik made his Test debut against Australia back in 2004.
