Delhi J-K get two points each in rain hit Ranji match
Chandigarh, Feb 10 (UNI) Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir were awarded two points each as rain played spoil sport in the North Zone One-Day Ranji Trophy tie at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium here today.
Batting first, Akash Chopra and Gautam Gambhir failed to give Delhi a good start wth the former being caught by Hardeep Singh of the bowling of Abid Nabi with scoreboard reading just 10. Chopra contributed only three runs.
Shikhar Dhawan and Gambhir (27) carried the total to 73 before Gambhir was caught and bowled by Dhruv Mahajan (2 for 23). Dhruv Mahajan also dismissed Shikhar Dhawan (38). Mithun Manhas and Mayank Tehlan were batting on 8 and zero respectively, rain interrupted raining and prevented further play.
Umpires Amardeep Pathania and Marcus Cotou called off the match at 1400 hours. Only 117-minutes play was possible in 27.3 overs.
