RCB's batting coach Dinesh Karthik recalled Padikkal's mindset upon rejoining the franchise. "He said, 'I couldn't be happier playing for any other team than RCB... I'm here and I want to make a difference. Just tell me what you need.' From day one, he was a man on a mission," Karthik revealed.

"I feel a lot calmer and more composed now. I understand what I need to do to be at my best," Padikkal reflected.

"In 2020-21, I was a lot more scared as a young kid. Over the years, I've learned to handle everything that comes with the IPL," he said.

"If he continues like this, I don't think Team India can ignore him across formats. He is batting at a level which is a touch above a lot of others," Karthik said.
